“From its first boarding house, Eweka House, established in 1937, Edo College's house system has evolved alongside the growth and development of the institution. Esigie, Ozolua, Speer, Akenzua, Nana and, later, Erediauwa Houses each represent a significant chapter in the College's history. Beyond providing accommodation, the houses became central to the College's traditions of sports, inter-house competition, camaraderie, leadership and school spirit. Their history reflects not only the physical expansion of Edo College but also the enduring bonds and traditions created by generations of students. This article traces the origins of each house and records the people, events and circumstances that shaped the house system of Edo College from 1937 to the present day.”
